It is said that cause of material creation is the desire of the living entity to enjoy the material world separate from the supreme. Naturally this is erroneous for the simple reason that 'all is one and the same' and that 'one's purpose is love' with love being a synonym for companionship, friendship, warmth, the desire to experience togetherness. Hence the correct answer to question as to 'what caused creation?'. The cause of creation is Self not wanting to be by itself and the purpose of Self is companionship otherwise known as Love hence the why of The Gospel of Love.
