The answer to the question if love is the only thing that matters in a relationship is yes but in order to understand the reason as to why, one must first realize that matter is not made of matter but love. Love experiences itself as life. Life is the condensed form of love (see the QM-related Von Neumann–Wigner and Eigenkollaps interpretations which allude to the same). We are in reality not life- but love-forms; we simply need to meet other in this capacity. We could thus state that true love is when love meets each other as love; this can only happen through the mutual awareness of being love itself.
