Dark energy is an abstraction. It is just a name, a word, a porous block in the Tower of Babel. Before words came into being there was One's loving feeling. What does it mean? Dark energy is Self. Self is always One without a second. All there is is Oneself. Self is One but perceives itself as two not to be alOne. Aloneness is the cause and Love is the purpose. Love equates to Companionship. Companionship is the purpose of Life. Life is Self desiring not to be alone. It is not good to be alone. All this for Love, for Companionship, not to be alone! As such; it the answer to the question - what causes the universe to expand - is Self. The universe is not the universe; the universe is Self. There is only One Self. It is Self which desires companionship. It is Self which expands or diversifies itself to Love and Be Loved. Love is the law of the universe? Yes. It is just that Love is the law of Self. Self desires not to be alone; Self desires Love.
