Why does Maya exist in the first place?

When it comes to the power of maya; it is not that reality is an illusion (as in not real) but rather that reality is self veiling itself as many selves so not to be by itself and that the purpose of self is thus essentially love. In nuce. The purpose of life is not negation; the purpose of life is celebration. Why? Life is self celebrating itself as differentiated so to love and be loved in return.
