Psychoanalysts have been trying to explain the difference between the conscious/subconscious/preconscious and conscious mind for eons; they've only gotten it partially right. Truth is simple; it only appears complex. There is only one consciousness or one self not wanting to be by itself. The purpose of self companionship. The purpose of self friendship. The purpose of self love. All this so not to be/feel alone. All this so to be able to experience companionship, friendship, love.
