What Causes The Universe To Expand?

It is said by some of my colleagues in the sciences that the measurements of the hubble space telescope indicate that our universe is expanding a tad faster than some models originally predicted indicating that there some kind of unknown 'power' at work in the cosmos. My goodness; how did we end up here? The word sure speaks a lot of words. Best to keep it simple. Expansion is a synonym for inflation and inflation is self perceived differentiation. Now it would be safe to stop there but it would be inconclusive. The purpose of this self-differentiation (otherwise known as the big bang in cosmology or biodiversity in biology) is so self could experience companionship otherwise known as love hence also the why of the gospel of love.
