What is Consciousness?

The confusion here is that the word consciousness or the awareness that springs from the mind-body complex is confused with universal consciousness. The suggestion here is to forget about the word consciousness all together and replace it with the word Self for it is Self which gave and continues to give birth to all words including but not limited to consciousness.
