It could be said that the initial singularity¹ gave rise to quantum fluctuations² resulting in self perceived differentiation³, i.e., resulting in it perceiving itself as different. Simpler? The origin of self is self not wanting to feel by itself and the reason of self, the meaning of life, is companionship aka love. In nuce. Hear, hear, here we are for love so love let us love.
