Naturally there is a reason behind the saying that ‘age is just a number.’ At any time, we are free to believe that we are merely a body, completely separate from the whole, with a specific age and an expiry date. This approach may seem fun in the early years when lots of cake, candles, and birthday presents are involved, but the fun of aging tends to wear off in the later years. Alternatively, as a second option, we can acknowledge that we are the eternal one which expresses itself as life manifold so as not to be alone; and that life’s purpose is the joy of your day-to-day companionship, friendship, love. The latter allows every day of life to be a celebration while remaining firmly embedded in the peace-bringing truth that sets us free.
